Catching Lessons

Appointment Only

Catching Lessons will be taught by Gooch Greer.

Lessons will consist of both fundamentals and mental training. Fundamentals will consist of teaching the proper stances, receiving, blocking, and throwing. Mental aspects will include understanding your pitchers and hitters, relationships with umpires, communication with fielders, and more

For Baseball & Softball

Hitting Lessons

Appointment Only

Hitting Lessons will be taught by Charlie "Jersey" Munroe. 

Not all hitters are the same. Charlie will adapt to each athletes different swing by using tee work and other drills. He will work on the absolutes of the swing which means hand path, balance, and body control.

Pitching Lessons

Pitching Lessons will be taught by Gooch Greer, Charlie Munroe, and Charlie Puleo.

Charlie Puleo is a former MLB pitcher. He played with the New York Mets, Cincinnati Reds, and Atlanta Braves. He was the head coach of William-Blount High School for 10 seasons. Charlie now is a partner with the Sports Page Radio Show.

Fielding Lessons

Appointment Only

Fielding Lessons will be taught by Gooch Greer and Charlie Munroe. 

Fielding lessons will consist of both infield and outfield work. Athletes will learn the proper way to field a ground ball and catch a fly ball. They will also be taught the proper footwork for each position. 

 

Basketball Lessons

The newest addition to Smoky Mountain Athletics is our basketball lessons. Basketball Lessons will be taught by Cait McMahan. 

Cait McMahan was a two time National Champion under legendary Pat Summitt. Cait also was a two time All-American in Highschool.  

Cait McMahan owns her own basketball training called “CM Training.” She is also a DJ/Host for ESPN college gameday.

Speed & Agility Training

Appointment Only

Speed and agility are often the most overlooked quality in athletic development. This training will consist of jump rope, cone drills, agility ladders, sprints, and other drills to improve speed and quickness.

Strength & Cardio Training

This class will combine a fast paced version of both cardio and weight lifting. It is a fun variety that allows you to accomplish both cardio training while strengthening the muscles. 

This class is for both beginner and intermediate lifters. We want everyone to know that this is a fast paced class so please be prepared.

Weight Training

Learn good form and what it means to reach your threshold. We’ll teach you how to breathe and warm up properly, so you can safely build the muscle groups you need.

This class is for both beginners that are just trying to get a start and those more experienced that are looking for more structure.
